In what is believed to be an industry first, DataPro Group, the listed telecommunications company and ISP, has announced the launch of a new "ADSL Usage Tool" that allows clients to request more bandwidth online, in real-time.
DataPro`s ADSL online tool offers users the functionality to sign-up for the company`s usage-based ADSL services online, allowing instant access to these services, provided the user has an ADSL line installed.
Simon Butler, Product Manager: ADSL solutions, said: "With our online facility, users can now instantly sign-up for our usage-based services, receiving all the necessary set-up information and enabling them to manage their account - all from a single online interface. Should users not have an ADSL line installed, we will also assist in getting this ordered.
"However, if users find that they have reached their 3GB limit, they will be able to use the new ADSL tool to order more bandwidth online. It makes the managing of bandwidth that much easier," he said.
The tool also allows users to monitor their usage patterns. "The move towards usage-based models is going to take on in the ISP industry. It is going to be the preferred usage method adopted by users, who are going to be able to better control their communication costs by only paying for what they actually use.
A major benefit of the company`s usage-based solutions is flexibility in terms of `self-imposed` monthly account limits. "Users will not only be able to select their own monthly account limits, but they will also have the flexibility to change this via the online tool at any time of the month. In addition, users will also be able to view their usage and account details from this interface," said Butler.
"Our objective with this facility is to make ADSL easier to use, manage and more accessible."
DataPro usage-based ADSL solutions offer both a Platinum (unshaped) and Gold (shaped) service to suit most users` requirements and Internet access needs. The key benefit of these solutions is that users will only pay for the bandwidth they use and not a predetermined amount, as was the case with previous ADSL offerings."
