Since introducing its uncapped Business ADSL solution at the end of February, premier Internet service provider (ISP), DataPro, has introduced another "industry first" with the launch of its Business ADSL VPN solution - a solution that allows users to cut significant communication costs by linking their virtual private networks (VPNs) through ADSL rather than Diginet lines.
With Business ADSL, instead of using Diginet lines, which cost R1 700 - just for the line - users can now route their VPN through ADSL, thereby saving R600 per each line connection. The solution is said to be ideal for the SMME market, especially for companies with multi-branches.
Murray Steyn, Product Manager, SOHO Solution at DataPro, said users could make a saving of "at least R600 per month per branch". He said that although a VPN does not have a static IP address, the company has been able to "re-route the bandwidth" through its own network.
"This solution is perfect for small businesses because they are also able to take advantage of our uncapped ADSL offering, meaning they are able to be continuously online - and are also able to download files of any size. "There is no cap on downloads as with the current Telkom ADSL offering. In addition, you must also remember that to have a 64k Diginet line comes with a monthly price tag of around R4 000. Our ADSL solution costs less than R1 000. So the costs savings can be significant."
Steyn said the company`s uncapped ADSL offering has proved immensely popular since its launch at the end of February. A total of 350 companies have already signed on for its ADSL uncapped solution.
"We believe our latest offering - the ADSL uncapped VPN offering - is likely to prove just as popular."
