Since introducing its uncapped Business ADSL solution at the end of February, Premier Internet Service Provider (ISP), DataPro, says it has sold more than 350 of these solutions.
"There has been an extremely good uptake from because this is a unique solution that satisfies the needs of the SMME market. The solution is not only priced very competitively but also delivers value for money benefits to the business owner.
Revenue from the new solution is expected to add "markedly" to the company`s revenues once higher volumes are reached. "But volumes are definitely starting to kick in now," said Murray Steyn, Product Manager, SOHO Solution at DataPro.
Business ADSL was launched as a means to take Telkom`s consumer restricted solutions and bundle them into a fully-fledged business service. The new solution includes all the components smaller businesses require to communicate effectively and efficiently on the Internet.
Users now have broadband access to the Internet, using their existing telephone lines and ADSL technology.
Included in the new bundle is Uncapped broadband local and international internet access, the ADSL Router`; a Communication Server; Email Software that facilitates centralised mail, `calendaring` and tasks; standard Firewall software; proxy server software as well as 24 hour remote support. Steyn said DataPro has "cross-subsidised" the service in a move to keep the pricing as lean as possible.
Steyn pointed out a number of business benefits, including the fact that there is no capital outlay or investment in rapidly changing technology. "It is also an all-in-one packaged solution from one accountable supplier, coming with 24 hour technical support from DataPro`s helpdesk - and with fixed monthly support costs."
