London- and Johannesburg-listed Datatec has expanded in Singapore through the acquisition of Touchbase Singapore, for an undisclosed amount.

The company yesterday said its subsidiary, Logicalis Group, had bought Touchbase Singapore from Touchbase Group.

Touchbase Singapore is a unified communications (UC) solutions provider, focusing on the areas of UC and contact centres for enterprise and multinational corporations.

In the announcement, Datatec says Touchbase Singapore has become one of the strongest Cisco UC and contact centre partners in Asia.

It has annual revenues of about $8 million. The business will be integrated into Logicalis' Singapore operation, NetstarLogicalis, to further build Logicalis' presence in the Asia Pacific region.

CEO Jens Montanana said: “This acquisition brings further UC and customer contact expertise to Logicalis, as well as growing its Asia Pacific presence and reinforcing the Cisco Asia relationship. Touchbase Singapore also has an extensive client base to which Logicalis can now provide a broader offering.”

Last week, Datatec bought Johannesburg-based product distribution company Biodata for an undisclosed amount. Biodata's revenue is around R30 million. Datatec is also in talks to buy Comztek for R97 million.
