Datatec`s UK-based international e-business integration and services group, Logical, today announced a strategic partnership with Danish business-to-business e-commerce applications provider, Catalog-International.
Under the terms of the partnership agreement Logical will develop and integrate Catalog-International solutions for mid-sized customers worldwide.
The alliance will focus on Catalog-International`s Ideal Seller product, and covers the UK, US, South America, South Africa, Australasia and Switzerland. Logical is the applications company`s first worldwide e-business integration partner.
Logical`s solutions will be based around Catalog`s Ideal Seller, a 100 per cent ready-to-run e-commerce application, which has a highly flexible configuration allowing integration with any database, CRM or ERP environment. Ideal Seller`s application approach means that newcomers to e-commerce can list product catalogues and process orders online in a matter of weeks not months.
Logical`s strategy in the e-business solutions and services market is to concentrate on re-engineering mid- to large-sized businesses as New Economy players - a market it has identified as neglected. This process will take the form of developing Internet-based systems that create new business opportunities and offer substantial time and cost efficiencies. Logical`s solutions will be hosted through its worldwide network of e-business operation centres, or they will be integrated with customers` existing systems, running on their own infrastructures.
Catalog, an established player in its native Denmark with more than 600 installed customers across Europe, develops practical, quick to deploy B2B e-commerce systems, with much of the functionality of more costly alternatives and the ability to re-use a client`s existing IT resources such as back-end databases and ERP systems. The company has launched its operations in the UK, Germany and Benelux countries.
Says Rikke Helms CEO of Logical: "Catalog-International`s emphasis on speedy delivery of e-commerce functionality means that mid-sized businesses will have a real appetite for this technology. Ideal Seller`s quick deployment characteristics and high level of integration into back and front-end environments make it compelling for companies wanting to transform themselves into e-businesses rapidly."
Says Prem Athwal, UK Country Manager, Catalog-International: "This partnership will present a vital alternative to the lack of focus in this area being offered by many vendors and management consultancies. Mid-sized organisations cannot afford exorbitant consultancy fees, while major software vendors continue to focus on the large enterprise market.
"Our mutual focus on mid-sized customers will give us combined strength in providing e-commerce applications that enable these businesses to deploy sell-side systems in the shortest possible timeframe."
