Datatec`s Westcon Group subsidiary has signed a distribution agreement with Brix Networks, the provider of real-time service assurance solutions to operators of service-centric networks.
Under the terms of the agreement, Westcon Group`s Comstor, Voda One and Westcon divisions will sell and support Brix Networks` entire voice over Internet protocol (VOIP) service assurance product portfolio to value-added resellers and systems integrators throughout North America.
Says Anthony Daley, senior vice-president and general manager, the Americas, Westcon Group: "Brix is an important addition to our portfolio because its products allow our customers to identify weaknesses and improve the performance of converged networks. When you are talking about real-time performance monitoring of voice, video, broadband, VPN and Web services across the network, this is very significant. It can lead directly to increased productivity.
"Brix Networks provides proven VOIP service assurance and network monitoring products, and the company has established itself as a category leader in this area."
Charles Giambalvo, vice-president of worldwide sales and services at Brix Networks, says Westcon Group has a long-standing network of value-added resellers focused on providing end-users with high-performance solutions. "Westcon Group, working together with its reseller partners, helps us increase the scope of the Brix brand, particularly in enterprise accounts."
The award-winning Brix System improves the overall effectiveness of networks, and allows organisations to maximise their investment in - and increase the value of - all their business-critical IP services.
Featuring its unique Brix Tri-Q Analysis, the Brix System provides total VOIP service testing across each of the areas that affect users` experience of quality, namely: signalling quality (signalling path performance), delivery quality (media transport performance), and call quality (overall call experience and voice clarity).
Says Susan Kolsby, president of New Jersey-based E.Comm Technologies: "Through its new Brix offerings, Westcon Group provides us with market-proven tools to identify and address key quality of service issues relating to newly installed or existing convergence networks. Since we can now understand positively where any quality of service or other network issues exist, our solutions can become more targeted."
