South African call recording software specialist Datatex has released a new version of its class-leading mobile call recording app, iReCall, available now from the Google Play Store.
iReCall 1.4 introduces a host of new features designed to improve functionality for companies and families wanting better group management for multiple users and devices. These include shared passwords that protect user privacy while allowing supervisors (or parents) to access multiple staff (or children's) calls through a single iReCall account.
Other features include the ability to log in to an iReCall account using Gmail or Facebook credentials, and an enhanced search engine - via iReCall's Web-based management console - that makes it easier to group calls from specific contacts and tag important calls for future reference.
"As a locally developed and supported service, one of the biggest advantages of using iReCall are the regular updates we issue based on user feedback," says Datatex CEO Johan Landman.
"The latest version of iReCall is no exception, featuring some of the most requested functionality from our community of users," says Landman. "Shared passwords, for example, is a feature that improves on iReCall's core strength, privacy, by protecting the privacy of multiple users in a company (or multiple family members) using a shared account from listening in on other users' calls.
"For companies this means supervisors can monitor their team's calls without compromising the privacy of any team members, and parents can - ideally with their children's permission - monitor calls against bullying and other threats without giving their children access to each others' calls. With one account, managers and parents can issue a single shared password that instantly allows multiple users to record calls on their own phones."
Landman says another key feature is social media login to iReCall. "So many users already have Gmail and Facebook accounts that they use every day, so we wanted to make it easier for them to use iReCall with the same login credentials, giving them one less user name and password to remember," he says. "This also makes it easier for users to log in to their iReCall accounts from any device using the same credentials. At no time does it compromise their privacy or security, and iReCall information is never shared with Google or Facebook."
iReCall is the mobile interface to Datatex's industry-standard Amethyst call recording engine used by thousands of companies across South Africa and Africa as their recording tool of choice. Designed for commercial-grade PABX and desktop calls, iReCall gives everyday users access to the same functionality through an easy-to-use Android smartphone app. The app also features a fully-functional dictaphone and meeting recorder, each optimised for personal and group-based recordings respectively. As an extension of Amethyst, iReCall users get access to their own Web-based management tools, with advanced functionality such as powerful searching, grouping, and black/white-listing for powerful call management.
"iReCall is essentially a personalised call recording managed service," says Landman. "All your calls are stored on our secure cloud servers, so you never risk losing valuable calls that would otherwise be stored - and potentially lost or stolen - on your phone. Because it's 100% cloud-based, recordings are accessible from anywhere, be it phone, Web or desktop, and as long as your subscription is current, we store recordings for a minimum of five years for complete peace of mind."
iReCall 1.4 is a free upgrade for all iReCall subscribers. The app is available now as a free download from the Google Play Store with a seven-day trial period. An iReCall subscription costs R30 a month or R300 a year. For a full list of the latest features, enhancements and fixes, visit https://www.irecall.co.za/.
