Dave Ives from Karabina Business Technology Solutions will be the keynote speaker at The Enterprise Mobility Forum 2013. Delegates will gain strategic mobility insights into the latest trends and solutions deployed by leaders in enterprise mobility.
Says Ives: "Some important trends and scenarios are coming to the fore. Companies are trying to understand big data and what this means to an enterprise. This leads to access to useful business data (business intelligence) and the trends around consumerisation of IT, which spans to the 'all important' 'bring your own browser' or 'bring your own device'. Browser-enabled devices will play an even bigger role in future."
One of the most prominent new trends within consumerisation of IT and this 'bring your own device' (BYOD) in the enterprise centres on how enterprises embrace and extend these solutions for value. BYOD scenarios are versatile, as they apply to any client devices, from PC, to tablet, to smartphone.
According to Forrester, today's BYOD scenarios span 258 million global information workers! The application is broad - from the use of data, to enabling business processes. A recent study by ZDNet and TechRepublic's BYOD Business Strategy Survey suggests 62% of companies either already have BYOD allowances in place, or plan to by the end of 2013 http://goo.gl/bufkV. It is therefore not surprising that IT teams around the world are considering how to enable and support BYOD for their mobile users, while optimising their current investment and infrastructure.
Ives will also cover who is growing in the OS market and where this is going in the next 18 to 24 months. The session will include case studies regarding how companies embrace the scenarios and make it real. He finally comments: "Go mobile or go home; it's already happened... If you don't have a mobile strategy, don't worry, your employees do." Companies should therefore carefully consider how best to implement their mobile strategies and embrace the trends for the benefit of the company and its staff.
