In line with its strategy to grow the sector for reliable and quick-to-market e-commerce and B2B applications, local high-end Macromedia distributor, Dax Data, has awarded Macromedia Associate Partner status to Implitec.
Jeremy Matthews, MD of Dax Data, says that although Implitec is a relatively new company it does satisfy the international prerequisites for being appointed an associate partner. "Macromedia Associate Partners are listed on the Macromedia Web site, enjoy a range of membership benefits and gain access to essential tools and information to help them build and market a Macromedia-based business."
Focused on developing Web sites and e-commerce initiatives using ColdFusion, Implitec has also used the platform to develop a Web-based project management application that MD, James Chiweshe, describes as suited to managing projects in dispersed environments. "With skills in short supply these days, it is often necessary to co-ordinate the efforts of people in different geographical locations," he notes.
Chiweshe says Implitec selected ColdFusion because it enables business applications to be designed, built and deployed faster than other platforms. "This gives our development team more time to conceptualise and plan which results, at the end of the day, in more stable applications. It offers more scope for creativity."
Matthews says Implitec adds value to the process by offering developer training as well as development services. "Any technology adoption cycle goes through several phases, the first of which is the initial rush in order not to be left behind.
"We have now entered the second phase. Customers, having been once burnt, are twice shy and investigating the alternatives more thoroughly than before. The result is greater demand for ColdFusion expertise and instruction. Implitec can satisfy both these needs," he adds.
