Macromedia Contribute 2, the easiest way for non-technical users to update and manage content on existing Web sites, is now Mac OS X compatible and includes a number of new features.
Jeremy Matthews, MD of local distributor and Web enablement specialist Dax Data, confirms: "Macromedia Contribute 2 not only allows users to update and manage content on existing Web sites, but also incorporates the FlashPaper feature for Windows 2000 and XP and the online payment solution, PayPal."
Macromedia Contribute 2 dramatically simplifies Web content management, updating while maintaining the overall look and feel of a site. Users simply browse to the page they want to modify, make the necessary changes and post the updated page back to the server. The product features the same look and feel as traditional business productivity applications and supports any content created in Microsoft Word and Excel.
"Macromedia Contribute 2 unlocks the power and potential of the Web for a new class of users," Matthews adds. "It incorporates features that will benefit customers in the education, government and small business sectors - markets where the first version of Contribute enjoyed particular success.
"Macromedia FlashPaper technology allows Contribute 2 users to transform any printable document into a Macromedia Flash format that can be set in any Web page," explains Matthews. FlashPaper works with any printable document, allowing Web site visitors to view the document without having to own the original program.
New features that address the needs of both Windows and Mac users include: high performance site connections, support for and drag-and-drop integration for PayPal to easily add commerce hooks to Web sites. "By incorporating this payment solution within Contribute, Macromedia and PayPal enable users to integrate e-commerce functionality seamlessly through a simple wizard-based process into their Web sites," Matthews confirms.
"Online businesses now have easy access to a secure payment solution. It facilitates fast transactions and caters for most forms of payment, including credit cards and bank transfers," Matthews says.
"Macromedia Contribute has enjoyed wide scale adoption worldwide, enabling small and medium businesses to easily update and manage their Web sites. The new version`s FlashPaper feature, e-commerce functionality and multiple OS support will add value to existing Dax Data customers and allow us to service a broader market," Matthews concludes.
