Dax Data launches Macromedia Partner Programme

As Macromedia representative in SA, Web-enablement specialist, Dax Data, has launched the Macromedia Alliance Programme - a certification-based model to assure consistent quality from companies that provide services, solutions or products built on and around Macromedia products and technologies.

Jeremy Matthews, MD of Dax Data, says the programme differentiates between partners on the basis of expertise levels and provides each of the three tiers with differing levels of support from Macromedia and Dax Data.

At the lowest level are Macromedia Associate Partners, who will hold a Partner Development licence and gain access to essential tools and information to help them build and market a Macromedia-based business. "It is the likely migration path for existing Allaire Standard partners," he says, referring to the acquisition of Allaire by Macromedia last year.

One level up is the Macromedia Alliance Partner - a new level distinguishing the business model, infrastructure and skills of a partner. "Approval and certification to this level requires increased thresholds of staffing, experience and marketing activities," says Matthews.

Macromedia Alliance Partners are organisations that have built the infrastructure needed to support their clients. Companies wishing to join the Macromedia Alliance are expected to meet or exceed a minimum level of certification or training on the products and be able to demonstrate the value they add for their customers using these tools.

Finally, the cr`eme de la cr`eme are those partners skilled enough and committed enough to be nominated, by Macromedia itself, to Premier status. "This level only kicks in at the beginning on 2002 and will be awarded on an invitation only basis. Evaluation criteria for the Premier designation includes time invested, costs incurred and quality of the partner relationship."

Matthews` intention is to satisfy the growing demand for ColdFusion and other Macromedia technologies and skills while assuring the quality and commitment of local service providers, developers and hosting partners.
