Edutain Distribution/Alien Technologies today announced the release of the Dazzle MovieStar 5, the newest addition to the Dazzle digital video software line. MovieStar 5 combines an easy-to-use user interface with powerful editing features to provide home users with what they need to create their own professional looking movies.
MovieStar 5`s innovative user interface makes video editing the easiest it has ever been. Almost all video-editing tasks can be completed in three mouse clicks or less. In addition, MovieStar 5 is the first real consumer video editing software to support Background Rendering, which means that the most time-consuming and frustrating part of the video editing experience -- rendering a final project -- is cut down dramatically.
"Most video editing software is designed with the professional in mind and so is very complex; but MovieStar 5 is targeted at average PC users who wants their video projects to look professional but be quick and easy to do," says Voula Philippides, MD of Edutain/Alien. MovieStar 5 offers many features that make it easy to make a home video look professional, including:

* Background rendering to dramatically speed up video processing;
* An integrated video CD burning engine so users can record directly to their CD burner without additional software; and
* The ability to output to videotape or the Web right from the software itself.
MovieStar 5 will be sold as a standalone product, as well as bundled as a key software component with numerous Dazzle video capture products. It is compatible with Windows 98 SE, 2000, ME and XP operating systems.
