Central Point Communications (CPC) has released DC Media version 5.0, a signage software package the company says has more capabilities and is easier to use than previous versions.

According to CPC, enhancements include a new look and feel and intuitive user interface for multimedia user insertion, as well as increased user access control.

It also has improved graphic capabilities, which reduce processing needs, and additional playback functionality for PDF and flash files, as well as improved playback for Web content, the company says.

CPC adds that the new software includes TV cloning, allowing a player to clone its TV picture across multiple screens and eliminating the need for multiple capture devices in a player. It also allows users to build video walls spanning multiple displays without the need for any third-party video wall switching.

In addition, the Digital Signage Network Manager now includes the Digital Signage Management Access Protocol, making connecting and building a digital signage network over 3G and other networks easier, says CPC.

A 15-day trial copy of DC Media can be downloaded from www.dcmediads.com.
