International technology vendor partners continue to play an increasingly important role in the development of the local channel distribution business.
So claims Wayne Britz, Director of Annex Distribution, who says the company is in the process of expanding its portfolio in support of its drive into the retail and digital lifestyle market segments.
Annex recently hosted a number of its key dealers at a technology-focused presentation at Montecasino, in conjunction with its global vendor partner and Europe's leading IT provider, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
Before whisking dealers away for a spin of the roulette wheel (for a bit of fun and prizes), product managers and Annex representatives were given the floor to talk shop.
The main objective was to clarify the target market, features, benefits and value of several product lines across the entire spectrum of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebook offering.
This included the Amilo Pro V edition, the Esprimo Edition, Lifebook E Series, Lifebook S Series, Lifebook P Series, Lifebook Q Series, Convertible Notebooks and Stylistic Series.
Dealers were also given a detailed overview of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers server infrastructure offering. Particular emphasis was placed on the Tower Server Primergy TX120 model launched in July to the South African market.
"Power-saving technology is the main advantage to this latest server solution," comments Britz. "It uses 50% less power than other servers and is commonly known as the 'green' server because of its noiseless, low energy consumption and space saving qualities. It would be of specific benefit to the small to medium-sized organisation.
"Annex will be sending out more information in due course about a new online dealer offering that we plan to launch in the not too distant future. It will provide an automated facility for online orders, where dealers will not have to engage with any sales representatives, and manage the entire process online. It will feature comprehensive information, pricing and other material that will be of value to our dealership," adds Britz.
