defenceWeb is proud to be among the first South African media companies to have flown aboard the Airbus Military A400M heavy transport aircraft, which will enter service in a month's time, with the French Air Force.

defenceWeb, Africa's leading defence and security news portal, was invited to Seville, Spain, for Airbus Military's 2013 Trade Media Briefing (TMB) last week. Apart from receiving updates about the company's programmes, witnessing the launch of the new C295W variant and touring an A400M assembly plant, defenceWeb had the rare privilege of flying aboard the A400M, 174 of which have been ordered by eight nations.

Of only one of four South African media organisations that went to Spain as part of the 2013 TMB, defenceWeb editor Guy Martin was one of only three South African journalists to fly aboard the A400M. The 50-minute flight from Seville allowed defenceWeb to witness the aircraft's power, quietness and smooth ride first-hand.

The flight was another demonstration of the high-level relationships defenceWeb has with both local and international defence and security companies.
