defenceWeb's traffic for September 2013 reached an all-time record high of 76 000 unique browsers and its growth shows no sign of slowing, in another indication that defenceWeb is Africa's leading defence and security news portal.

Web site traffic for September reached a total of 76 552 unique browsers, and 187 249 page impressions, up from 42 440 unique browsers and 120 367 page impressions recorded in January this year.

These figures, audited by industry benchmark Effective Measure, does not include .mobi and Apple and Android app traffic, which account for several thousand additional unique browsers every month.

Traffic on defenceWeb has continued to grow throughout 2013, and is projected to break new records in the coming months, confirming defenceWeb's position as market leader when it comes to African defence reportage.

September was a busy month for defenceWeb, as it covered several conferences and exhibitions, including DSEI in the United Kingdom and in South Africa, the SA Joint Air Defence Symposium, the Aardvark Roost Electronic Warfare Conference, and the Training and Simulation for Homeland Security conference.

defenceWeb was the only African media organisation invited to tour Boeing's facilities in the United States between 15 and 20 September ahead of the Dubai Airshow - all other journalists being from the Middle East. This media tour saw defenceWeb visit Boeing facilities in four cities, including the V-22 Osprey and CH-47 Chinook production plants. It also got a chance to see the ScanEagle UAV being demonstrated first hand and was given access to top Boeing defence officials.

In the coming months, readers can expect more authoritative reporting, timely news and in-depth analysis from defenceWeb, as well as new traffic records as it expands its audience across the globe.
