Johannesburg, 08 Dec 2006

Building on the company's award-winning projector line, Dell today introduced the 1800MP projector, designed to deliver high quality image and text reproduction to businesses, educators and consumers across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

With a starting price of R8 259, the 1800MP is an ideal projector for customers seeking excellent value and the vivid image performance of XGA resolution (1 024 x 768 pixels), which is optimal for presentations in small to medium-sized meeting rooms and classroom environments.

The 1800MP projector delivers 63% more pixels compared to SVGA, resulting in a more dynamic picture with absolute clarity.

Powered by Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology for true reproduction of colours, it also features 2 100 ANSI lumens (max) brightness suitable for lights-on presentations. Businesses and educational organisations will also benefit from the 1800MP's consistent high quality images when connected to a PC, DVD player or other source, plus additional features such as password protection and integrated zoom lens.

Gavin Slevin, Mobile Brand Manager, Dell SA, said: "Businesses of all sizes, schools and higher education institutions are finding new ways to utilise projectors for high quality image reproduction and digital content, to make presentations more dynamic. The 1800MP is feature-rich and adaptable to different environments with the impact of high definition, high resolution images that customers have come to expect from Dell but without a premium price tag."
