Dell expands DVS portfolio
Server Watch reports.
The move is the latest in Dell's ongoing VDI refresh.
According to Channelnomics, Unidesk's claim to fame is providing an easy-to-use application-layer approach to the virtual desktop, which allows users to install and personalise their experience without fear of IT messing things up, or vice versa.
As such, Dell is taking Unidesk's technology and integrating it into the Dell DVS portfolio, with Dell's new PowerEdge serving as a primary platform focus.
“Our goal with DVS Enterprise is to bring a robust and flexible end-to-end solution with enhanced levels of management and cost optimisation,” Sun Herald quotes Steve Lalla, VP and GM of Dell's mobility solutions group, as saying.
“With Unidesk layering technology added to DVS Enterprise, we make it easier and more affordable for IT to deploy and manage virtual desktops leveraging the DVS Integrated Solutions Stack infrastructure. We are now able to give each end-user a personal and uncompromised persistent desktop experience every time they log in.”
