Incredible Connection has signed a channel partnership deal to sell Dell's laptops and netbooks.

The announcement was made this week with channel Tarsus and Intel, at Montecasino in Fourways.

Dion Visagie, Dell head of sales for SA, said the decision to conclude the deal with Incredible Connection came after a year of negotiations.

“It was important for us to select the right to sell our range of products in the South African market,” said Visagie. “Yes, we've taken a long time, but we wanted to enhance our relationship with Incredible Connection.

“In excess of a year we've been working with Incredible Connection in the background, making sure we do all the right things and that when Dell launches in partnership with Incredible Connection, that we really make a difference to the market. I believe in the coming months we will do exactly that.”

Visagie added: “We were looking for a partner to deliver the full complement of our range and showcase our products holistically. We've got four products that we've launched with Incredible Connection, with 18 different colour combinations. We expect to do well and I think we are breaking a few records in the high-end computing space.”

. According to Incredible Connection CEO, Dave Miller, the retail chain stores have already been selling Dell laptops for the past 10 days, and noted that sales have been going well.

David Futtter, GM of consumer and SMB, Dell Africa, said: “It's been a great time for Dell. Dell is serious about getting into the consumer market and is currently in 45 000 retail outlets worldwide.”

Incredible Connection will initially stock four Dell models: the Inspiron 1545 model, Studio and Studio 15 models, and the Dell XPS. The laptops are packaged with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 4GB of memory, Windows 7 Home Premium, a Web cam, facial recognition software, Bluetooth, and wireless cards.
