Dell takes enterprise certification to Oz`

Dell has marked its first year in the Australian channel with a significant addition and plans to bring its enterprise architecture certification into the local market, states ARNnet.

Its latest channel recruit is Victoria-based services player, S Central, which recently abandoned a merger agreement with ASX-listed integrator, ComputerCorp.

S Central MD, Peter Mavridis, says the company worked with Dell in a services capacity for three years and the new relationship will see it on-selling the vendor's PC, storage and server products.

IBM updates WebSphere middleware

IBM has delivered a slew of updates to various WebSphere products that are broadly aimed at helping customers take advantage of business performance management (BPM) functionality in the context of service-oriented architecture, according to ITJungle.

The products run the gamut from infrastructure components, such as a release of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus to industry "content packs" aimed at providing BPM templates for companies in specific industries.

There are at least 40 different products in the WebSphere family, and at least two or three times more when counting all of the different versions and editions of those products.

Layer 7 releases OSB appliance

Layer 7 Technologies is shipping an appliance for the Oracle Service Bus (OSB), which integrates an XML gateway, security, and high-performance hardware with OSB, reports Integration Developer News.

The appliance aims to provide enterprise IT low-cost, quick-deployment options for enterprise service buses.

The OSB appliance combines Layer 7's SecureSpan XML Gateway, XML security, and performance and reliability from Sun Microsystems' Sur Fire X4170.
