Dell SA continues to impress the local small to medium enterprise (SME) market with the recent launch of its Inspiron notebook range.
The first of these notebooks to be made available locally is the Inspiron 2500. This is an affordable and functional notebook, as Leigh Hancock, product-marketing manager at Dell SA, points out: "This product offers the perfect blend of speed, power and affordability due to its vast range of customer selectable options. These options include a choice of either Intel Celeron or Pentium III processors, as well as a choice of 12.1, 14.1 or 15 inch LCD panels."
This notebook features processor speeds of up to 850MHz, 100MHz front-side bus for optimal processing, 64MB to 512MB SDRAM and hard drives from 5GB to 20GB. It further sports removable palm rests, which are available in four colours, coupled with an easy-to-use touchpad that provides optimal cursor control.
An integrated media bay provides users with a choice of CD-ROM, CD-RW or DVD-ROM optical drives. "We configure the notebooks to the customer`s requirements, resulting in clients receiving their notebooks tailored exactly to their specifications -- as opposed to receiving non-configurable, `off-the-shelf` stock items from dealers or retail stores " says Hancock.
"This product was created for the SME market and this is the reason we have decided to make it available locally," adds Hancock. He says this affordable product`s rich assortment of multimedia options makes this a functional notebook that will satisfy the needs of SME customers and home users.
"The SME market is a rapidly growing sector and the needs of these businesses differ hugely from their corporate counterparts. By introducing Inspiron locally, we intend to provide our smaller clients with affordable products tailored to their specifications," concludes Hancock.
