Deloitte & Touche one of SA`s largest professional services firms has entered into a joint venture with the two leading J.D. Edwards implementation partners - Q-Inter Systems (Gauteng) and Innovative Business Systems (KwaZulu-Natal) - to form a new business solutions company - Deloitte & Touche Active Era (Pty) Ltd.
JD Edwards is the world`s third largest ERP solutions vendor and is recognised as the fastest growing company in this area due to their superior technology.
The formation of the partnership with JD Edwards reflects the strong commitment of Deloitte & Touche to the success of the firm`s clients.
The primary focus of Deloitte & Touche Active Era is on the client`s success in implementing JDE`s ERP solutions using the internationally recognised Express for JDE methodology developed by Deloitte & Touche.
Announcing the new company at a function in Johannesburg this week, MD John Dougan said the implementation methodology complements and supplements JDE`s installation techniques.
Express for JDE is a five phased approach comprising - Scoping and Planning, Visioning and Targeting, Design, Construction, and Implementation. This goes beyond the JD Edwards Implementation Approach and an example is in the emphasis on success achieved from effective Change Leadership throughout the project. People make projects successful and effective communication is key to successful project rollout at Go-Live said Dougan.
Dougan adds that within the Express methodology there are three pathways for the deliverables that customers can select - intensive, standard and rapid implementation.
Within the five phases there are threads covering such issues as Project Management, Information Technology, Process and Systems Integrity, Change Leadership and Training and Performance Support.
"These are the differentiating factors and is where the Deloitte & Touche Active Era implementation methodology is so advanced," says Dougan.
A further differentiation factor is that the new company also brings "SolutionPrints" to their partnership with clients whereby "maps of best business practises" are offered relating to 16 separate industries such as banking, insurance, retail, manufacturing, public sector, resource/mining, automotive and discrete manufacturing, health care, utilities and pharmaceutical.
"Internationally Deloitte & Touche is a Global Strategic Alliance Partner with JDE and was awarded `1999 Business Partner of the Year` status in the UK a few months ago. The formation of the new company in South Africa is an extension of this alliance and our customers can expect to reap the rewards of this accolade," says Dougan.
