Demand grows for BPM software
Interest in business process management (BPM) software is growing rapidly as firms try to set up systems to help them continually optimise business processes.
That is the message for delegates at this week`s Gartner BPM summit in London, which started this week, says computing.co.uk.
Speaking to IT Week ahead of the conference, Michael Melenovsky, director of BPM research at the analyst firm, said companies were beginning to embrace a new set of management disciplines that result in a constant revision cycle for business processes rather than periodic process re-engineering projects.
LANDesk jumps into BPM market
LANDesk Software Monday released its first products for BPM since acquiring the assets of BPM vendor NewRoad Software earlier this year.
LANDesk is positioning the software as a low-cost alternative to sophisticated BPM products from other vendors, reports Network World.
Called LANDesk Process Manager 2.0, it`s available from channel partners priced from $35 000 (about R250 000) for companies with less than 1 000 employees, up to $190 000 (about R1.375 million) for those with more than 10 000 employees, LANDesk said.
Hyperion aims for financial confidence
Hyperion, a provider of BPM software, introduced Hyperion System 9 Financial Data Quality Management, the industry`s first packaged solution for finance users to develop standardised financial data management processes with a Web-based guided workflow user interface.
The solution is designed to increase companies` confidence in their financial data, simplify data collection and transformation, improve the productivity of the finance staff and lower the cost of compliance, says CRM Today.
It includes a unique option that allows companies to push consolidated results to their existing tax preparation application, reducing the time and money frequently spent on a largely manual, error prone process.
