InfoTel company, ATIO Corporation has been selected by the Department of Communications to provide the official call center solution for AFRICA TELEKOM `98. From 1 April onwards, and for the duration of the show, the public will be able to obtain information on AFRICA TELEKOM `98 by phoning (011) 807 3526. The new-generation multi-media call center will be on show live at Nasrec Showgrounds for the duration of the show from 4 to 10 May. Operators will be able to interface with callers via e-mail, fax, telephone and the Internet. Callers will be able to obtain updated traffic reports to and from Nasrec and other information pertaining to the exhibition and conference, such as schedules, maps, contact numbers, in the medium of their choice. An interesting feature on the Africa Telekom `98 web site is the call-back request button that enables Internet users to receive a call back from operators, when requesting further information. "Telemarketing for Africa Telekom `98 will be conducted by the call center during the month of April and we believe that it is only the second time that a call center has been used to market a show of this magnitude," comments Andy Minnaar, Marketing Director at ATIO Corporation. The design of ATIO`s stand at Africa Telekom `98 will allow visitors to view the operators at work. The information booths around the live call center will demonstrate how interactive voice response, computer telephony integration, voice messaging and the Internet can all play a part in making businesses more competitive. Concludes Minnaar, "ATIO is delighted to be able to work closely with the organisers at Africa Telekom `98 and we believe that our expertise in the call center environment will aid in the smooth management of the show."
