Diboss exit upsets channel
Resellers and customers of LCD monitor manufacturer Diboss have been left out in the cold over warranties, after the vendor pulled out of the UK market back in September, says vnunet.com.
One reseller, who asked to remain anonymous, told CRN: "We have had customers ringing us on a weekly basis, who have paid for three-year warranties, being told that the product they bought is no longer covered by a warranty."
Diboss also worked closely with IT repair specialist RepairTech, which has also been left picking up the pieces following the firm`s sudden exit.
Sophos gets thumbs up
More than six months after Sophos embraced an all-channel sales model for North America, the security software vendor continues to recruit new resellers in key geographies and vertical markets, according to ChannelWeb.
Channel partners that make the cut are giving Sophos high marks for its partner and customer support efforts and generous margins. Sophos executives, in turn, say their approach is providing the company with a healthy increase in incremental business through partner-generated sales leads.
Last month, solution providers surveyed for the VARBusiness Annual Report Card gave Sophos the highest marks among all security software vendors - particularly in the area of partner support.
