Fresh after losing its FTSE 100 listing, Dimension Data has given the markets clarity on its new structure and leadership for its US operations. It plans to have three focal points, namely e-business, networking and management services.
Raul Fernandez, former CEO and chairman of the board of Proxicom, will lead DiData North America, assuming the position of CEO.
"We will be able to provide our clients with a comprehensive solutions offering that spans their business systems requirements from e-business solutions to the building and management of the network infrastructure," says Fernandez. "We look forward to demonstrating the effectiveness and capabilities of this new organisation as we move forward."
E-business Services will comprise the DiData/Proxicom consulting and e-business solutions offerings, and includes mission-critical Web site development, industry-specific consultants, Internet application development, and business strategy and planning. The division will be headed up by Jay Thomas as executive VP. He was formerly executive VP of client service operations for Proxicom.
Network Services spans products and solutions in integrated voice, data and video networks in the wide area and campus, remote access and emerging IP technologies. Bob Cagnazzi steps in as the executive VP of Network Services. He was formerly president of Integrated Systems Group, which was acquired by DiData in May 2000.
Managed Services will provide clients with full service management and monitoring or hosting of their IT infrastructure without the associated cost of ownership issues. Each of these managed service offerings is delivered within DiData`s proprietary Global Services Operating Architecture platform.
Greg Hoogerland, formerly CEO for i-Bridge and chief technology officer for Premier Systems Integrators, which was acquired in April this year, has been named executive VP of the Managed Services group.
Peter Hird, executive chairman of DiData North America, says the new leadership team will bring together all the existing US companies into one organisational structure to ensure that DiData provides an integrated service offering under a single brand throughout North America.
