IT solutions and services provider Dimension Data has acquired a 51% stake in Sistemas Redes e Communicac~oes (SRC), an Angolan-based IT solutions company.
The acquisition marks the launch of Dimension Data Angola, with its offices based in Luanda.
According to a statement issued by the company, the Middle East and Africa region has been a key territory for Dimension Data's expansion strategy, with 25 offices already located in 12 countries.
Dimension Data's growth strategy in this region has been characterised largely by partnering with local companies that have in-depth knowledge and experience in the local market. Dimension Data believes that by using local resources and expertise, the company creates a locally relevant organisation.
SRC Angola, established in 1996, has provided technology and communication solutions in the local market for over 12 years.
“Dimension Data has an established track record of delivering world-class technology services and solutions that enable Africans to do great things. By combining this with SRC's strong client base and local knowledge and skills, Dimension Data Angola is able to provide more comprehensive services and solutions ideally tailored to the local, Angolan market,” says Bruno De Carvalho, MD of Dimension Data Angola.
“The Angolan economy has undergone a period of transformation in recent times and has emerged as the fastest growing economy in Africa. This growth can be partly attributed to its wealth of natural resources.”
