A team of TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum) members, led by Dimension Data, today showcased the commercial release of the iBOSS solution for IP VPN service fulfilment at the TeleManagement World in Nice, France, 14-16 May.
TeleManagement World is the premier conference and exhibition of the telecoms industry. The commercial iBOSS solution originates from the initial IP VPN Management solutions prototyped by Dimension Data, in conjunction with multiple ISV partners, in two Plug-and-Play Catalyst projects showcased at previous TeleManagement World events. The Catalyst solution was awarded the NGOSS-Powered certification by the TM Forum.
The iBOSS solution demonstrated, provides customer self-care, flow-through provisioning and real-time billing of complex multi-layer, multi-vendor VPNs with evolving requirements and exploits the power of NGOSS in accommodating diverse inter-service provider business models with associated changes of information exchanged in a business-to-business environment.
The iBOSS pre-integrated Service Fulfillment solution is based on the integration of best-of-breed commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products using the Dimension Data-developed Service Provider integration Nerve System (SPiNS), an NGOSS-aligned integration framework.

The iBOSS solution was showcased at the TM Forum`s Multi-Vendor Pavilion (MVP) in conjunction with Dimension Data`s ISV partners TIBCO, Orchestream, Syndesis and Cygent. The solution integrates Cygent as the Web-based customer management interface, including the product catalogue, online bill presentment and order capture and configuration; Syndesis NetProvision as the multi-layer multi-technology service design and configuration system; Orchestream Service Activator as the IP VPN service, configuration and activation system; as well as a real-time service billing system. The solution uses the TIBCO ActiveEnterprise suite of products as the enabling technology platform enabler for SPiNS and the preintegrated iBOSS solutions.
The MVP, located at the TeleManagement World`s OSS Expo show floor, is a place where TeleManagement World attendees can see real, commercially available solutions developed to address critical service provider OSS issues. The products and solutions found in the MVP have evolved from the TM Forum`s Catalyst Showcase program.
