Dimension Data says its planned purchase of Australia`s Bellerephon Group is part of a strategy to make focused and targeted acquisitions to enhance its own capabilities.
The group has announced that it intends to acquire the privately owned group by 30 September, depending on business performance conditions.
Founded in 2003, Bellerephon is an IT consulting group that designs, plans and delivers Microsoft IT infrastructure and management solutions.
Focusing on systems management solutions, the group advises and consults to companies throughout the Asia-Pacific area.
Dimension Data public relations manager Michelle Atkins says the price of the deal has not been disclosed, as it is not of material value.
She adds the Bellerephon technology will be deployed to customers worldwide, with Bellerephon staff in SA at the moment to deploy the products and conduct training.
This is the third small acquisition by Dimension Data in recent months. Last year the group acquired Australian integrator SecureData and Belgian company Euricom, a software development company focused on .NET and related products.
Atkins says none of the acquisitions have been of a material value, but are aimed at improving Dimension Data`s own skill sets and capabilities.
The group says acquiring Bellerephon will help it to upgrade its clients` Microsoft technology more efficiently and cost-effectively.
