Dimension `s executive chairman, Jeremy Ord, has been appointed to the Paracon Holdings board as a non-executive director.

Ord replaces Andrew Wilson, who previously represented shareholder Dimension on the board and chaired Paracon`s audit committee.

The appointment is just one of several changes to the Paracon board, which the IT resourcing and business solutions provider says reflect its continued efforts to enhance its black economic empowerment profile and to foster closer ties with its significant shareholders - Dimension and WDB Investment Holdings.

Dimension Data owns 26.6% of Paracon Holdings, while WDB Investment Holdings has a 25.1% stake.

WDB Investment Holdings` chief financial officer Tandi Nzimande has also been appointed as a non-executive director and is to chair the Paracon audit committee.

The group has also announced that Paracon`s Cape Town MD Shafiq Daniels has been appointed to the board as an executive director.

In May, Paracon reported that it grew its pretax income from R10.05 million to R19.87 million in the six months to March. Turnover for the period rose to R237.17 million from R167.36 million a year earlier.

The Paracon share closed unchanged at 90c on the JSE yesterday.
