JSE-listed fleet management group DigiCore has signed a three-year agreement to provide in-vehicle monitoring systems for BHP Billiton`s global operations.

BHP Billiton is the world`s largest diversified resources company, with about 38 000 employees in 25 countries.

While the value of the contract has not been disclosed, DigiCore CEO Nick Vlok said recently that DigiCore has the highest level of guaranteed sales income it has yet experienced. This is mainly because several large tenders the group has won are to be rolled out over the next three years, he explained.

The BHP Billiton contract involves the provision of DigiCore`s C-track in-vehicle monitoring systems and associated equipment and services.

Vlok, who describes the contract as "a feather in our cap", says the group went through a gruelling selection process to win the contract.

He said last month, at the release of DigiCore`s financial results for the year to end-June, that indications from several research companies pointed to rapid growth for the group`s industry over the next five years, and DigiCore was well placed to benefit.

The group`s share was trading at R8.42 this morning, up 7c or 0.8% from yesterday`s close. The share closed at R8.90 on 12 October, the record date for the group`s most recent dividend, and declined since then to R8.11 on Monday, before rising to R8.35 yesterday.
