DigiPoS Store Solutions was ranked number one by retailers in the point of sale systems category for RIS News' second annual Hardware Leaderboard survey.
The intention of the study, which allowed 202 retailers to review 41 vendors, was to measure customer satisfaction of retail technology providers in six product categories: POS units, peripherals, kiosks, networking, back of store and RFID.
DigiPoS, a provider of customised retail IT solutions, was assessed in the POS units category and ranked number one, a step up from second place in 2006.
"This is a great achievement for DigiPoS, because the survey gets such a large response. This year, there were 536 retailer reviews submitted," says Regan Atkins, marketing manager of DigiPoS. A total of 23 vendors made the final cut.
DigPoS scored top marks in three of the six categories, namely product features and functionality, price and value, and overall performance.
RIS reports that each of the top five finishers this year scored more than the first place score from 2006. The winning score last year was 48.86, which would have earned that product only sixth place this year.
