Dimension Data and AirWatch announce global partnership

Partnership will benefit Dimension Data's clients wanting to move to mobility.

Johannesburg, 24 Jan 2013

Dimension Data, the $5.8 billion global ICT solutions and services provider, announced it has signed a global partnership with AirWatch, the largest mobile device management provider and leader in mobile security.

The global availability of the solution has already been welcomed by a number of Dimension Data's clients in South Africa and Europe, who have cited the growing need for solutions to manage corporate- and employee-owned mobile devices, protect corporate data, distribute enterprise applications, and secure mobile access to corporate documents.

Matthew Gyde, Dimension Data's Group General Manager for Security Solutions, says: "Dimension Data's Enterprise Mobility Framework offers a 360-degree view of all the considerations for, and areas affected by, the move to mobility. Security remains one of the most critical considerations and, if not effectively managed, creates the biggest area of corporate risk. Given the multi-geography nature of Dimension Data and our clients, we needed a partner with a powerful technology platform that we could work with across all regions. What further sets AirWatch apart is its advanced API framework that allows for close integration with Dimension Data's telecoms expense management (TEM) offering, Xigo Enterprise, to deliver even greater value to our clients."

"We recognised Dimension Data is a significant provider of security services to the market today," says John Marshall, president and CEO, AirWatch. "This, combined with its focus on providing clients with end-to-end mobility services around the world, makes the partnership a natural fit. Our ability to jointly address the needs of our respective clients represents a major opportunity for us."

To showcase the partnership and Dimension Data's extended enterprise mobility capabilities, the company will participate in AirWatch Connect 2013, the leading user conference for enterprise mobility, which takes place at Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, Spain, from 25 to 28 February 2013.

This, combined with a scalable high-availability architecture, results in virtually every mobility project with more than 20 000 devices being managed by AirWatch. Examples of this market leadership include the top four global Fortune companies, nine of the top 10 US retailers, six of the top 10 global airlines, the top four global energy companies, six of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies, seven of the top 10 global CPG companies, three of the top five US medical device companies, five of the top 10 global luxury goods companies, and two of the top three global hotel groups.
