London-listed Dimension Data, a leading global network services and i-Commerce solutions provider has been selected as a Cisco partner in an innovative new programme designed to showcase Cisco technology solutions in action.
The Cisco "Ready-to-Go" solutions programme is to be rolled out in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region. Dimension Data is one of just four partners worldwide selected to participate in the launch of the project.
In addition, Dimension Data is the only company certified to demonstrate Cisco "Ready-to-Go" solutions in three regions - the UK, Europe and Africa and across four technology platforms: ASPs (Application Service Providers); e-compliant data centres which are Internet enabled for e-commerce; IP (Internet Protocol) based contact centres; and Dot.Com data centres for New Age enterprises.
According to Craig Ireland, Dimension Data Global Account Director for Cisco, "There`s long been considerable hype about the emergence of a New Age or Internet economy. The technology exists which can make this a reality, but there is still confusion about how to put it all together in a way which is cost-effective, efficient, robust and secure.
"The `Ready-to-Go` project is aimed at eliminating this confusion through the production of demonstrable turnkey infrastructure solutions tailored to meet specific market requirements. Dimension Data has built, or is in the process of rolling out, live working examples of these solutions based around the Group`s Global Services Operating Architecture (GSOA).
"The GSOA enables Dimension Data to deliver consistent, round-the-clock, online, real-time service anywhere in the world. This capability is essential in a mission-critical, New Economy data centre environment in which every minute of downtime can lead to irrecoverable costs stemming from lost sales and customer alienation.
"Cisco and Dimension Data customers will be able to visit the Cisco Ready-to-Go project centres and see the realisation of the promise of the New Economy technology," Ireland concludes.
