In collaboration with Compaq Belgium, Dimension Data Service Provider Solutions has sold its Vantage telecommunications interface to Mobistar, a major mobile operator based in Belgium. The deal adds to Dimension Data`s fast-growing network of international telecoms customers.
A member of the France Telecom Group, Mobistar holds 32% of the Belgian market and caters for 1.235 million subscribers.
Vantage is a product developed by Dimension Data Service Provider Solutions to integrate TeMIP, Compaq`s telecommunications fault management framework, with any customer relationship management (CRM) system. The resulting solution integrates the two core business processes of the telecommunications industry: customer care and assurance.
Because Vantage provides visibility of the network at the front end, Mobistar has the capability to know about any problems on the network before its customers do. This is a critical competence in the service-driven telecommunications industry.
The product is deployed at Mobistar by Compaq Belgium, while Service Provider Solutions provided the installation and configuration services for the implementation. Mobistar`s ARS installation was customised for the Vantage integration, and the Compaq server fail-over environment was configured to enable Vantage to communicate correctly after a system failure.
Vantage closes the gap between network management platforms and CRM systems. It provides a consistent view of alarms detected by the network and faults reported by customers between the operator`s front office and back office.
Vantage currently interfaces to Remedy Corporation`s AR System as well as Maximo, Siebel, Vantive and Clarify. Customers` host platform options include Solaris, NT and Hewlett-Packard. The existing Vantage customer base encompasses Transtel locally and Airtel and Libertel in Europe.
