Cisco's recent Partner Awards Dinner may have been a Cisco event, but the night definitely belonged to Dimension Data. The master system integrator proved itself a true force to be reckoned with in a number of markets, winning an impressive seven out of the 13 awards on offer.
This included the much coveted Public Sector Partner of the Year and Enterprise Partner of the Year for 2010.
The awards dinner, held on 18 November at Velmore Estates, was one of the highlights of Cisco's annual Partner Summit. As a closure to a successful conference centred on innovation and collaboration, it was the ideal platform for Cisco to applaud the performance of its top channel partners in South Africa.
The Cisco Partner Awards recognises exemplary channel partners whose business best practices have demonstrably contributed to the success of the clients they serve, through a combination of innovation and operational excellence.
Dimension Data's dominance at the event showcased the company's impressive breadth of capabilities across a number of sectors. The full roster of wins included: Public Sector Partner of the Year; Enterprise Partner of the Year; Data Centre Partner of the Year; Collaboration Partner of the Year; Borderless Network Partner of the Year; Academy Partner of the Year; and Commercial Partner of the Year.
“While we are extremely proud of these achievements,” says Michael Abendanon, General Manager, Dimension Data Network Integration Middle East and Africa, “what is truly important to us is the value this represents in terms of how we serve our clients. Each award is an indication of our ability to truly translate our commitment and expertise in each sector into actual measurable results - not just for Cisco, but for our clients.”
For Dimension Data, the seven accolades represent a year of dedicated effort and sustained performance, which goes far beyond just revenue and growth related figures. Other contributors to the various awards included critical educational and skills development elements and a proven ability to drive innovation around Cisco's technology solutions to satisfy client needs. “We have enjoyed a long and strategically involved partnership with Cisco for many years, but to be openly acknowledged as one of their Partners of Choice in South Africa is extremely significant for us,” says Abendanon.
