The PictureTel 600 series is a new generation of set-top video conferencing systems and the second offering in the vendor`s revolutionary iPower range.

The PictureTel 600 series is the result of a manufacturing partnership with Sharp combining `best of breed synergies` between these two global leaders. "It offers PictureTel`s extensive video conferencing knowledge and iPower capability, with Sharp`s experience in high quality, high volume manufacturing of electronic and PC-based products," says Oliveira.
The PC-centric system is intuitive and delivers new levels of audio and video quality at a price point that will extend the appeal of video conferencing and enable a broader community of users to reap the benefits of integrated collaboration.
The PictureTel 600 series also combines the most important business communication resources: the PC, the Internet and video conferencing, to deliver critical information and decision-making power.
"The solution removes all productivity obstacles, empowering users to interact naturally via the ISDN or IP connections, share ideas and information from LAN-based or laptop applications and easily connect with any standard business peripheral," he says.
Another outstanding feature is that the solution differentiates between people and information. Visuals of people are transmitted at the highest frame rate, allowing for smooth motion, while information is transmitted at the highest resolution allowing documents to be read easily and clearly.
