Exceptional growth in a difficult IT market has led to Dimension Data South Africa receiving the coveted Oracle Technology Partner of the Year 2001 award.
"Dimension Data`s performance this past year was very pleasing," says Eveline Schultz, Alliances account manager at Oracle South Africa. "Its growth has been amazing, especially considering the tough economic climate for IT compalies. The Oracle team at Dimension Data grew more than tenfold during 2001, laying the foundation for further growth next year."
Dimension Data began its partnership with Oracle South Africa by being awarded Oracle Best New Partner of 2000 - with a 100% increase in Oracle sales revenue.
"From this to Best Technology Partner within a mere 12 months is a notable feat," says Schultz.
The award is based on a number of criteria, the most important of which are revenue and growth achieved.
"Our revenue grew more than 35% during the year," says Donald Stuart, general manager of Dimension Data`s Oracle division. "We also grew our skills substantially, and now boast a technical and professional services team of more than 74 people. We have great strength in the maintenance and services of core technologies - all geared towards optimising the performance of the database and the applications that rely on these databases.
