South African companies are opting for Dimension Data`s online network and facility management service, a key component of the group`s Global Services Operating Architecture (GSOA) platform.
Mike Maree, SA head of Dimension Data Global Services, says the group`s customers are "giving a definite thumbs up to the GSOA services as they are rolled out in SA".
"The environment we`re managing is very complicated and our Insite service makes it a lot more manageable. Quite simply, it de-risks the environment for our customers, both existing and new, which is why we`re experiencing such an excellent response," comments Maree.
He points out that the roll-out of Insite has gone particularly smoothly in SA due to the strategy employed by Network Services SA.
"We chose to start the roll-out slightly behind the other territories. We have such a huge installed base in SA, and because of this decided not to risk customer satisfaction for time to market. It`s proved to be a good decision, and we now have 15% of our customer base live on Insite within a two-month period, covering Gauteng, the Western and Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
"We`re powering ahead, and are currently implementing Insite at 10% of our installed base per month," says Maree.
In addition to Insite, another South African services initiative, Uptime ES is being rolled out to customers locally, including Alexander Forbes. The Uptime ES service involves the operational management of enterprise systems, including servers, operating systems, applications and desktops. It allows for Dimension Data to take operational control and management of customers` enterprise environment.
"Through online remote management and services, we`re able to deliver on far better Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for our customers, and now handle 60% of our first line support remotely. To cater for this, we have invested significantly, including constructing an Enterprise Systems help desk, rolling out new tool sets and adapting our internal processes to scale up for and facilitate these services," says Maree.
The Global Services Operating Architecture (GSOA), a world first, is a complex proprietary IT architecture that enables Dimension Data to deliver high level managed services to multinational corporations as well as companies operating on a regional or local scale. It allows for proactive support and evaluation of systems in a real-time, online environment and enables the worldwide delivery of consistent and seamless services of the highest caliber.
The GSOA, has been deployed in over 25 Operation Centres in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America and the United Kingdom.
