Disney Store deploys Oracle POS

Disney Store is using Oracle Retail Stores Solutions to better serve customers at its 330 stores in seven countries, says IEWY.

Disney Store is now equipped to handle high volumes of transactions, helping customers move more quickly through checkout and giving the company a clear and accurate view of item performance in locations worldwide.

Oracle PartnerNetwork and systems integration company SkillNet helped to complete the global rollout of Oracle Retail Point of Sale in all 330 stores in November 2010, to coincide with the grand opening of Disney's highly-acclaimed 20 000-square-foot store in New York's Times Square.

Intel intros connected store

Offering the latest technology for the retail and signage market segments, Intel has introduced the Connected Store concept, reports Infor Tech.

This Connected Store concept is a two-story, 2 400-square-foot futuristic retail storefront equipped with the latest technology, the company stated. The Connected Store features interactive demonstrations and proof-of-concepts and is powered by 2nd Generation Intel Core processors, previous-generation Intel Core processors and Intel Atom processors.

The connected store combines online and mobile shopping with traditional retail environments.
