DLK puts Thebe Tourism Group on the Web

Johannesburg, 27 May 2003

DLK Consulting`s recent successful development of the Chapman`s Peak Drive Web site has secured it the contract to develop further sites for the Thebe Tourism Group (TTG). The first two sites under this new deal are for Thebe Inbound Group`s UTc and Hello AFRICA Web sites.

Sales and Marketing manager for TTG Phumla Eland says DLK`s professionalism in tackling the challenging Chapman`s Peak Web site has assured the group that a working partnership with this empowerment company was the right one to develop its Web presence.

"Thebe values great initiatives from fellow-empowerment companies and DLK proved to us that it can deliver top-quality work in a competitive environment."

The current deal is split into two phases. The first will enable clients of UTc and Hallo AFRICA to access information about products and services on offer. The next phase will be interactive, allowing transactions to be processed online.

DLK Consulting Managing Director Leon Hendricks says the working relationship with Thebe was built on firm foundations during the development of the Chapman`s Peak site.

"This was an information-rich site developed under time pressures with input from all the partners involved. It proved to all involved that being challenged by high expectations brings out the best in all involved.

"We look forward to a long-term relationship with Thebe as it seeks to use the Web to expand its share of the growing foreign tourist market."

Thebe Tourism Group offers integrated tourism services in southern Africa. These include travel and tour operating companies through the acquisitions of UTc South Africa, Hello AFRICA, Southern Touring Company and the Waterfront Boat Company; strategic investments in concessions such as Cape Point, Chapman`s Peak Drive, Soweto prime heritage sites and Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site; businesses in destination retail through an airports` joint venture with Cape Union Mart and Zanaka store at the Waterfront, and a car hire joint operational venture with National Alamo .
