Enterprise management solution company DeMeyerKonchev has launched its locally developed data management software, DMK, which comes to market at a 40% discount compared to imported products, and includes a number of world-first features that can cut weeks off report generation times.
DMK is primarily a real-time business system and on-the-fly end-user structured report generation framework that can cut the time factor in designing sophisticated reports from three weeks to less than two minutes.
This is achieved as a result of the design methodology and the development tools used, says DMK technical director Andre de Meyer.
Drawing on his 11-year management consulting experience that includes turnkey ERP consulting, De Meyer designed DMK after searching in vain for an ERP management system that was business process-driven, rather than purely accounting and historically focused.
"It is typically not possible to do detailed analysis in traditional ERP systems until the accounting elements have been addressed. In DMK, all links in the transaction chain and business process chain are traceable and can be reported on across the supply chain including, pre-sales, invoicing, ordering, warehousing, delivery and payment," says De Meyer.
Getting all of these functions to work together, simultaneously and seamlessly, is DMK`s secret. DMK captures and collates data produced in business processes as they happen, enabling end-users to generate on-the-fly SQL-based reports. As the data is built on the fly, instant dynamic report generation is another new feature: in addition to process-based reports, a general ledger can be generated in seconds, while a full balance sheet, which reflects up to 2 million transactions, can be created in around two minutes.
The data access methodology is also revolutionary. By using a Windows Explorer-type interface, hierarchical structures and drag-and-drop folders, an end-user with no programming knowledge can generate or launch the most complex of cross-analytical reports in minutes.
"The solution is to break down the process as it is happening, to determine, for example what real-time stock levels, debtors, creditors, deliveries or any aspect of the transactional cycle, may be at any given time," continues De Meyer.
DMK`s dynamic SQL programming allows users to generate their own reports by simply creating a new structure on screen, comparing costs, times, delivery, supply chain features and any other part of the transactional process.
"The two or three weeks spent writing a query for a traditional ERP database is bypassed," says De Meyer. "The time saving, not to mention a consultant`s or programmer`s cost each time a major query is designed, provides major return on investment."
Point-of-sale terminals and functionalities are also fully integrated into DMK, an advance over traditional ERP systems. The hierarchical nature of DMK`s analysis allows an exact breakdown of what was or is being sold at a point of sale, when, where, how, how much was paid for by credit card, cheque or cash.
DMK does not require proprietary software tools, is deployable in a standard Windows NT environment, and is multi-user-enabled, which significantly reduces licensing costs. Ideally deployed in industry verticals, the solution is fully scalable and Internet-enabled.
DMK is wholly locally owned and is the product of a recent buyout, along with Boundless Solutions, by staff of Traktion from the MB Worksoft group.
