DNS Entity, a DNS Group subsidiary, has won the Compaq AlphaServer Reseller of the Year Award for its achievements in product sales in 1999At Compaq`s annual awards presentation function, DNS Entity also received a special commendation as the Most Improved AlphaServer Reseller of the year.
According to Managing Director Peter Cheverton DNS Entity convincingly won the AlphaServer category, surpassing the target as set by Compaq for 1999 by almost 174 percent.
"The award is seen as a recognition of our skills, our knowledge of the product and the projects we have successfully completed," he said.
Nigel Proctor, Channel account manager at Compaq said the Channel Achiever Awards function is Compaq`s way of paying tribute to its channel partners for their outstanding performance.
"Compaq was the fastest-growing UNIX vendor in the mid-range server market in Western Europe for the second consecutive quarter in quarter four, 1999 and this trend was reflected in the South African marketplace thanks to the strong support we enjoy from our channel partners," he continued.
"Our past and future success is being driven by a focused market strategy, excellent execution, backed by world-beating technology," stressed Proctor.
Cheverton noted that DNS Entity was in the advanced stages of preparation for the launch of the new generation of high-end AlphaServers.
"This move will reinforce Compaq`s existing strengths in the market and provide DNS Entity with a technological edge in the high performance UNIX segment which Compaq addresses," he added.
