The KwaZulu-Natal branch of DNS Networking (a member of the Dimension Data Group) will host another in its series of technical forums on 9 September 1999.
The subject of the presentation, by Chris van Niekerk, regional sales manager for 3Com, will be "Policy Based Networking".
As the network converges to carry not only data, but also voice and video, the requirements for defining classes of service as well as quality of service increase.
Issues spotlighted will include CoS and QoS for different data applications, the definition of "true" policy based networking, and the future direction of the technology.
