DNS Services, a subsidiary of the DNS Group, has established a branch in KwaZulu-Natal.
The move comes in the wake of a significant shift in the DNS business model in the region towards a "service centric" focus, says Gavin Labuschagne, MD of DNS (KZN).
Jay Reddy, who has been appointed regional director DNS Services (KZN), says that networking clients are increasingly demanding tangible service value.
"Traditional services no longer meet their needs," he says. "Customers require the peace of mind that comes with services such as remote monitoring and management of networks to ensure maximum uptime and productivity."
Reddy says that as the new millennium approaches, network users are looking towards outsourcing many aspects of their information technology infrastructure to enable them to focus on their core business.
"DNS is ideally positioned to take advantage of this trend. It has the expertise and the leading edge product sets to expertly integrate legacy systems with modern voice/video/data networks demanded by companies looking to stay ahead in the technology race while optimising their investments in IT.
"DNS Services will add value to the DNS customer portfolio while providing the DNS Group with the critical mass required to grow its service business in the province," he adds.
