Donation benefits community learners

ETA Audiovisual, a presentation equipment distributor, has donated learning equipment to the Safe and Sound Learning Centre.

The donation includes 100 suitcases, printers, colouring-in books and projector screens.

Safe and Sound Learning Centre is a non-profit organisation, established in 1995. Based in Germiston, the centre provides community adult in the field of Early Childhood Development (ECD).

The participants, mainly from disadvantaged backgrounds, are instructed to become edu-care workers. On completing the training, the students receive a National Certificate in ECD Level 4, accredited by the Education, Training and Development Practices SETA.

"The aim of the programme is to fully empower individuals, enabling them to operate an edu-care centre in their own community, provide a for the community and derive an income from the business," says Safe and Sound training director and founder Colleen Walter.
