Maconomy has appointed former IBM manager Hugo Dorph as its new CEO with effect from 1 June.

The company is represented locally by Johannesburg-based PSA Solutions.

Dorph was responsible for the management of IBM`s pan-European sales of vertical solutions. Before that, he was responsible for global sales of IBM`s WebSphere Business integration products based in the US.

Forty-year-old Dorph has a Master of Science in Engineering from the Danish Technical University and a postgraduate degree in marketing and international business administration.

"We are very satisfied with the contract with Hugo Dorph," says Thomas Hartwig, chairman of Maconomy`s board. "He possesses the right personal skills and the professional insight to lead the growth of Maconomy going forward."

Maconomy also announced that Ulrik Christensen has succeeded Soren Larsen as the company`s CFO. Christensen has been employed by Maconomy since 2002 as corporate finance director.
