Online art auction platform ARTbid has seen the number of visits to its site increase by more than 30% month-on-month since its April launch.

Visitor registrations more than doubled during May and June, says founder and CEO Suzann`e B"ohme. “We are seeing a fantastically growing level of interest in terms of visitor numbers, and in terms of from which countries these visits originate.”

Participants get their own Web page, where they can feature a profile and examples of their art, at no charge. ARTbid only charges a nominal commission once work has been sold.

B"ohme says the site is notching up increasing visits from over 170 countries, including Thailand, Iran, the Philippines, Pakistan, Kenya, the UK, Indonesia, India, Egypt and Vietnam. “We are on new artists every day.”

B"ohme, an artist herself, said emerging artists needed more support and exposure - and one way to achieve this is to move their artworks online via an international portal, like ARTbid.
