Dov`el wins FDA workflow contract

Washington Technology states.

When completed, the Laboratory Information Management System will manage the analytical workflow operations of 825 users in the FDA's Office of Affairs labs, a company statement said.

The system will support sample accountability, analysis, document control, report generation, and other lab operation functions. The FDA's Office of Regulatory Affairs has 14 site labs and two mobile labs.

Benzinga says Dov`el's , Starlims Corporation, will provide its unified platform that includes LIMS, SDMS, and ELN functions, all critical components of the Dov`el solution. Starlims is a completely Web-based solution designed for a wide variety of laboratory environments operating in many scientific and industrial disciplines.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the company to expand our application of SOA approaches to meeting the challenges of the health IT market,” said Paul Leslie, CEO of Dov`el.

Dov`el has already been awarded several task orders for building the framework necessary to achieve the objectives of the LIMS programme. In addition to Starlims, Dov`el will perform the contract work with support from JPC Partners, LabAnswer, and SAIC.
