Dr Solomon`s Software, through its South African partner Dynamic Recovery Services (DRS), has pledged specialised training and support as two of the major features of its newly launched Global Partners Programme. According to Mark Purves, global partner manager for DRS, the company aims to grow Dr Solomon`s market share in the country and to appoint local channel partners who will specialise in particular products from Dr Solomon`s.
As well as invitations to training sessions and briefings, resellers who are invited to join the programme will have the chance to earn certification, funds for marketing activities and exhibition support. "Dr Solomon`s Global Partners Programme has a two-fold objective. Firstly, the company wants to establish and consolidate relationships with its growing network of resellers, giving them access to invaluable support and feedback systems. This will guarantee increased sales and revenue in the resellers` respective local areas," says Purves. "Secondly, the programme aims to inject greater anti-virus awareness and skills into the market generally, helping to decrease the crippling effects of viruses on all businesses.
"A large part of Dr Solomon`s global success is due to the dedication of its distributors and resellers who have been working to make the Dr Solomon`s name better known. Loyalty of dealers is essential and we as distributors shouldn`t compete with them if we want their support.".
Through the Global Partners Programme, resellers and dealers will continually be informed of the "Top Ten Virus List" and all dangerous viruses as soon as Dr Solomon`s is aware of them. Dealers will also have access to reports which indicate independent comparative testing of Dr Solomon`s against all its competitors.
Sales people will not only be trained on how to sell the company`s products, but will also be taught how to offer the best anti-virus protection available on various applications and networks. For resellers, this means an increase in sales revenue.
Technicians from the UK will train the channel partners` nominated technical staff on the repair and disinfecting of computers, servers and networks as well as on how to install the software on servers. And, as a member of the group of channel partners, recognition via a "Vendor" accreditation will be given to partners for loyalty. Purves says that DRS will also assist its channel partners with sales leads, competitive pricing and rebates on purchases.
"DRS guarantees a maximum lead time of two weeks to replace stock. "Dr Solomon`s Anti-Virus Tool Kits are now manufactured under licence in South Africa so we are able to hold more stock," he explains. "Dr Solomon`s recent success in independent comparative reviews has been outstanding, beating both McAfee and Norton AntiVirus. Dr Solomon`s scored a perfect 100% in the Virus Bulletin March 98 review of Windows NT virus scanners."
